Job description

This position will be partly remote and partly onsite. The position is at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington DC. The ideal candidate is an information technology employee who controls the quality of data a company gathers and the method it uses to collect it. The Service Desk Data steward will monitor the processes for collecting data and ensure that the information is in the right format. They will also organize data according to the service desk requirements. The Service Desk Data steward will also help solve data-related issues by managing data corruption or mapping data between programs that interface with the enterprise Service Desk System which will allow for more secure and high-quality data. Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Responsible for determining how the customer collects and processes existing service desk data
• Creating uniform rules for interacting with service desk data • Help employees enter service desk data into the company database correctly
• Address the ways that service desk data can improve the customer's business performance • Establish rules for the collection storage and ownership of service desk data to further support its performance
• Help the customer's overall operational processes by protecting its service desk data and providing data protection training to its staff
• Standardizing the customer data entry and data sharing processes • Maintaining the data and helping to remove any duplications or imperfections
• Monitor data usage to locate abnormalities and prevent breaches
• Creating Data Processes, Protecting Data, Managing Data Lineage, Managing Data Quality MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Database knowledge
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Proficient with Microsoft Powerpoint EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree
• Plus two years of professional work experience in data analytics
• CompTIA Sec+
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in using effective processes and techniques to analyze data and assess program performance
• Experience effectively utilizing a variety of software and reporting solutions • Experience with Microsoft Excel and pivot tables • Experience with processing and integrating data
• Experience with relational database design
• Experience in technical writing
• Experience with identifying possible solutions to solve problems and presenting ideas to staff
• Experience working cooperatively and successfully with internal stakeholders, cross-functional groups, and community partners ADDITIONAL NOTES
Must have active/current Secret Clearance to be considered for this position.
