Job description

The Sr. Network Automation Engineer supports the design, transition, operations, and continual service improvement activities associated with the local area networks (LANs) and unified communication (UC) services. Their duties include: Collaborating with business units to understand how automation can improve workflow opportunities for automation within software processes; Gathering requirements from clients, customers or end-users to develop the best automation solutions; Designing and executing quality assurance tests using scripts that automatically test functionality; Integrating systems via direct connections and/or rest application plug-ins; Setting technical thresholds, and developing, deploying and maintain scripts so they accomplish their intended function; Identifying reliability risks and resolving recurring issues; Documenting operational procedures; Providing technical support; Recognizing, justify, and make continuous improvement opportunities for automation; Aiding and coordinating automation projects with various difficulties and timeframes; Recognizing, justifying, and making continuous improvement opportunities for automation and aiding and coordinating automation projects with various complexities and timeframes; Gathering requirements from clients/customers and end-users; Designing and executing quality assurance test scripts for automatically testing functionality; Integrating systems through direct connections and/or rest application plug-ins; Setting technical thresholds, establishing optimal solutions and monitoring results. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / Technical Skills: Active TS/SCI Clearance (CI Polygraph preferred) IAT II Certification Demonstrated experience in automating technical processes to achieve a positive business impact through systems integration and custom scripting in one of the following programming languages (C#, SQL, Java, Python, and/or R) Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer (CTAL-TAE) Certification (obtainable with 2-6 months of start date) Bachelors degree and 5 years' experience; OR Functional Expertise administrating/designing network automation tools to include: o Micro Focus Network Noe Manager i (NNMi) o HP Network Automation Experience writing automation scripts using Ansible or Linux, especially to ingest/integrate data Experience performing network integration/testing in laboratory environments Experience automating ticketing, inventory management, router/switch configuration (from bare metal to full configuration), change detection, policy enforcement, STIG application, and/or change scheduling processes DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: CI Polygraph Have demonstrated experience in transitioning applications to Intelligence Community (IC) Information Technology Environment (ITE) as well as in-depth knowledge of IC ITE services Possess an ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP) credential within 6 months of starting on the ECS3 task order. Functional capability administrating/designing network automation tools to include: o ServiceNow IT Operations & Asset Management o Splunk Enterprise o NETSCOUT nGeniusONE o Cisco Packet Tracer o Grey Matter
