Job description

The System Engineers should have at least six (6) years of experience working with the Microsoft computing environment and programming of similar size and scope. (b) Certification by manufacturer of solution as a systems engineer. (c) Contractor personnel performing any work on any system, component, or device requiring certification shall hold this certification prior to installation. Specifically, contractor personnel performing any work which may affect system certification or warranties shall have the proper certification(s). (d) Should also be familiar with basic network technology/topology and capable of troubleshooting minor network connectivity issues such as network interface (NIC), cabling, TCP/IP configuration issues, basic messaging system administration (e-mail); PC and server hardware familiarity including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues using configuration analysis and subsystem (hard drive, memory, monitors, and power supplies) repair/replacement procedures; respond to trouble tickets from the Service Desk automated trouble ticketing system; perform hardware and software System, including patches, upgrades, service packs, and hotfixes to ensure system availability, reliability, and service ability. The System Engineer will be performing domain administrative tasks associated with Active Directory, Domain Controllers, Domain Names Services (DNS), Group Policy Objects (GPO's), Microsoft SQL Databases, managing server certificates, managing ESXi Hosts, Linux servers, Windows Servers, Virtual Machines, and Nutanix Administration
Personnel will be responsible for backup, recovery functions, and the following, but not limited to:
i. Overall system functionality, programming, trouble shooting, repair, rebuild databases, and maintenance of all ACAM and VMS servers. ii. Analyzing systems operations and the results of systems tests, to ensure proper systems operation and determine the need for maintenance. iii. Ensuring that system malfunctions are identified and, where possible, corrected and advises the Project Manager of all malfunctions and the actions taken for correction. Initiating authorized tests of the operation of the hyper-converged servers that support the video management system, security system and designated components and subsystems to ensure proper operation or to identify the need for maintenance to include updating and installing peripheral licensing and software upgrades for all VMS applications. v. Advising the Project Manager of abnormalities and shortcomings of the existing system that may significantly affect the design of next generation systems, or results in the identification of better methodology or operational techniques. vi. Development and implementation of a robust preventative maintenance program.
