Material Handler

This position will be responsible for the shipping and receiving of products and be able to quickly communicate potential shipping and receiving issues. Individual will be interacting with customers and truck drivers and coordinating special handling of material.

Essential Functions

Responsible for receiving, unloading and storing incoming product

Must be able to properly identify materials and product beling loaded and unloaded

Responsible for proper signage on paperwork.

Responsible for product storage in warehouse and inventory count on material.

Responsible for inspection of material received.

Perform safety audits.

Participate in Lean manufacturing, Gemba and 5S.

Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure.

Attention to detail of product and processes.

Maintains an attitude that unlawful or unethical actions are not accepted.

Actively participate in department safety practices and behaviors, which conform to all safety policy and procedures.

Other important Details about the Role:

Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers and vendors in a professional manner

Must be able to understand the schedule and inventory of materials and inventory counts

Identify and report safety hazards

Load and unload trailers and trolleys

Have the ability to understanding load processing and proper load building

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Must have good literacy skills to be able to read and write

Computer literacy using MS Outlook and Office and be able to create PO's

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English

Pay attention to detail and follow work instructions

Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds, although most frequent lift is up to 30 pounds

Ability to be company trained and authorized to operate equipment and machinery

Ability to work overtime as required to meet business needs

Self-Motivated, Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

HIGHLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL ALSO POSSESS THESE QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED

3+ years' experience shipping and receiving

Certification of mobile equipment used.

JOB CONDITIONS

Requires employee to outside in heat, cold, wet and humid, dusty environment.
