The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) acts as part of the clinical team. The responsibilities may include: history review, health education, physical exam and diagnosis.

• Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physician to patients.

• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Orders additional laboratory investigations when indicated and ensures appropriate follow-up.

• Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.

• Provides prescriptions and administers medications.

• Discusses case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.

• Collaborates, consults, and coordinates with other health care organizations and refers patients appropriately to resources for additional care as needed.

• Using clinical judgment to initiate emergency treatments per office protocol while consulting with appropriate physician in person or telephonically.

• Participates in all mandatory compliance and other training programs, seeks guidance for compliance-related concerns and adheres to all applicable laws, regulations and MSBP policies and procedures.

• Compliant with OSHA, CLIA, State Board of Nursing and Federal DEA Board of regulations.

• Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by physician.

• The physician will be accessible to the ARNP either in person or telephonically for consultation and general supervision of acute, chronic, or life threatening conditions.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
