Job Description . SENIOR ELECTRONICS ENGINEER (FPGA & DIGITAL ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS) MGTF GWEF, Eglin AFB Open Position Request Number: R-OO-24 CLASSIFICATION: Senior Electronics Engineer (FPGA & Digital Electronic Circuits Design) GRADE: Exempt; Regular, Full-Time LOCATION : Guided Weapons Evaluation Facility (GWEF), Eglin AFB, FL - On Site ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides senior level expertise to resolve moderately to very challenging problems in the area of responsibility. Work independently in nearly all cases with rare need to consult with principal level expertise on problems of exceptional difficulty. GENERAL DUTIES: Must have experience in field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) and in the design, test, and operation of electronic circuits, including digital design, analog design, programmable logic devices and microprocessor interfaces. Must exercise proficient skills for design/development with ECAD software. OrCad, Atium, Eagle, KiCad, etc.). Support the definition of FPGA architecture, requirements, and documentation. Translate high-level system requirements into FPGA requirements. Must have experience using ECAD software (i.e. OrCad, Altium, PADs, KiCad, etc.). Must have experience working with various FPGAs (i.e. Xilinx, intel, Lattice, etc.). Must have experience working with different programable logic software (i.e. Vivado, Quatus, Vitis, etc.). Desired experience working with various communication protocol (i.e. TCP, UDP, UART, I2C, MIL1553, JESD 204B, AXl4). Desired experience with Radar DSP algorithms and techniques. OTHER REQUIREMENTS : This position requires a Top-Secret security clearance. Must meet requirements to operate in enhanced security environments. Job Requirements OTHER DUTIES : Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Either a minimum of a MS from an accredited school in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, physics, mathematics or a closely related technical field as appropriate to the position and a minimum of 10 years of senior level experience in specialized or focused areas related to electronics systems design and implementation. Or a BS from an accredited school in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, physics, mathematics or a closely related technical field as appropriate to the position and a minimum of 13 years of senior level experience in specialized or focused areas related to electronics systems design and implementation. WORK ENVIRONMENT : Work activities are normally performed in an environmentally controlled area. PHYSICAL DEMANDS : This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; and requires very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials and require very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials.
