Check out this NEW Opportunity with Axient! Axient is looking for a Weapons Systems Security Engineer to support a new program in the AFLCMC/EBD at Eglin AFB, FL. What you will do Provides resources with knowledge and experience in systems security engineering to include platform information assurance, supply chain risk management, information assurance, and design and application of anti-tamper. Applies knowledge in design and implementation of encryption technology with implementation of DoDI 8500.01 and JAFAN 6/3 requirements for security system engineering support for program assessment and authorization efforts. Platform Information Technology (PIT) most relevant - applies knowledge and experience in analyzing procedures and developing specifications for Platform Information Technology (a special category of information system, which employs computing resources hardware, firmware, and software that is physically embedded in, dedicated to, or essential in real time to the mission performance) as it pertains to armament systems IA. Applies knowledge and experience in the Weapons Platform IT IA Security Control Assessor (SCA) process as the tailored risk-based approach for AFLCMC acquisition programs and systems to meet IA requirements. Applies knowledge and experience in PIT Interconnections which is the connection to the Global Information Grid (GIG) in the context of Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), and other networks. Supply Chain Risk Management - applies knowledge and experience in analyzing procedures and developing specifications for the implementation of supply chain risk management as it pertains to armament systems in compliance with Department of Defense Instruction 4140.01 DoD Supply Chain Materiel Management Policy . This includes: Identifying, monitoring, and assessing potential disruptions within and outside a system supply chain in order to mitigate risk to supply chain operations. Applying life-cycle management controls to guard against introduction of counterfeit materiel into the DoD supply chain. Employing supply chain risk management strategies to identify, monitor, assess, and mitigate potential disruptions within the weapon program's supply chain and outside the system supply chain. Information Assurance - applies knowledge and experience in analyzing procedures and developing specifications for Information Assurance (IA) as it pertains to air to air and air to ground weapon systems in compliance with Department of Defense Instruction 5200.44 DoD Protection of Mission Critical Functions to Achieve Trusted Systems and Networks (TSN) as well as DoDI 8500.01E. This includes: Provides technical assistance to determine mission critical functions and critical components within a system commensurate with a particular level of assurance consistent with the designated criticality of the system and with their role within the weapon system.
Applies knowledge, experience, and the application of risk management practices during the design of a system and prior to the acquisition of critical components or their integration within the system.
Anti-Tamper - applies knowledge and experience in analyzing procedures and developing specifications for Systems Security Engineering activities intended to deter and/or delay exploitation of critical technologies of an Armament System. Applies knowledge and experience in determining Critical Program Information (CPI) and determining Resident CPI when exposed to threats Evaluates need for protection using Anti-Tamper techniques Assists in establishing and maintaining a comprehensive security program as documented in the Program Protection Plan (PPP) plan throughout the system life cycle. Other tasks may include: Performing work that applies to theoretical and practical knowledge of weapon systems engineering to the DoD acquisition process. Assisting on reviews on armament programs portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved. Preparing management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective actions using application of engineering principles; perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures. Analyzing and/or evaluating results of major engineering weapon systems. Providing system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives in compliance with Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model (AF SEAM) processes. Providing engineering support to conduct formal trade studies based on engineering performance, effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, life cycle cost, producibility, reliability, maintainability, risk, and schedule. Providing proposal analysis support services that compare and quantify proposed systems, components, approaches for technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost effectiveness. Providing concepts and requirements analyses support services including, but not limited to, reviewing and analyzing: Initial Capabilities Documents; CDDs; CPDs; AoAs; Military Utility Assessments; CONOPS; Technology Development Strategies; Functional Configuration Audits/Physical Configuration Audits, and; Technology Standards Profiles. Skills you will need ABET accredited Engineering degree. Education and Experience Required: Master's degree in related discipline and 15 years of relevant experience; or PhD in related discipline and 5 years relevant experience Active Secret security clearance
