The following noninstructional vacancy is listed in Human Resources for the school year.

MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND SCHOOL SERVICES

1 LPN Range of Pay: $33,531.68 - $36,042.44 (10 months/196 Days)
(Additional compensation from the Millage initiative will be awarded annually. Pending ratification of the 2024-25 NESPA contract the amount for this position will be $5,706 and will be prorated from July 1, 2024.)


QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Licensed as a practical nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464.
2. Preferred experience in pediatric nursing.
3. Certified in CPR and maintain certification during employment.
4. Must maintain license during employment.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

(01) Perform invasive and non-invasive medical procedures required and ordered by student's physicians to include but not limited to feeding, cleaning and maintaining a tracheostomy and deep suctioning of a tracheostomy, sterile catheterization, monitoring blood glucose, and administering emergency injectable medication.
(02) Maintain adequate records for documentation of nursing procedures performed on a routine basis.
(03) Administer medications to students as prescribed by the student's physician. The need for this medication to be administered by the nurse must be documented. The administering of said medications and documentation provided must be in compliance with the rules of the N.C.S.B.
(04) To collect health related information and to provide this information to the student's physician and/or parent as directed.
(05) Assist students in all aspects of self-care.
(06) Assist students to and from the classroom and all areas of the campus.
(07) Adhere to specific emergency procedures designed for the classroom and be prepared to assume assigned role in a classroom emergency.
(08) Practice universal infection control procedures.
(09) Attend student scheduled meetings when nursing input is required.
(10) Contact the Office of Intervention and Prevention, the Nassau County Health Department, and the student's physician as necessary.
(11) Perform other duties as assigned by the Office of Intervention and Prevention.
(12) Provide classroom health education to students as well as CPR and Blood-borne Pathogen training for employees as needed.
(13) Uphold the best interests of students, staff, and community in support of the District's Mission Statement.
