JOB SUMMARY:

Vitis Energy is seeking a Renewable Developer who will have direct responsibility for managing the day-to-day advancement of energy projects (solar, battery storage, and emerging technology projects.) This position will be responsible for all deliverables of a specific project during each phase (development, construction and operations.) The successful candidate will be a self-starter with knowledge of PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, SERC and SPP. Proven project management and transaction experience; strong communication skills and financial acumen; and an ability to drive complex deals to closure.


RENEWABLE DEVELOPER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO):


REAL ESTATE:

  • Manages schedule and deliverables on land control agreements, easements, ALTA/survey, title issues, and landowner relations.
  • Drives the development of renewable energy projects by ensuring all local requirements for evidencing site control with stakeholders are in place.

PERMITTING:

  • Assists with management of 3rd party consultants involved in environmental studies, securing permits, AHJ interaction, and fieldwork.
  • Monitor and track progress on initiatives and provide regular reports.
  • Progress and track requirements for project sites for required permits or environmental studies, CWA, FAA, ESA, SHPO, NEPA, wetland surveys, cultural studies, water crossing issues, or any environmental or permitting concerns requiring local, state, or federal agency involvement.
  • Ensures all necessary permits are acquired and maintained.
  • Monitor and track all permitting requirements and provide regular reports.

INTERCONNECTION:

  • Oversees the interaction of interconnection schedules and necessary submittal requirements, ensuring seamless workflow amongst respective groups.
  • Monitor and track all interconnection build out activities and provide regular reports.

ENGINEERING, PROCUREMENT AND CONSTRUCTION:

  • Review and provide recommendations for aspects of engineering and design.
  • Review and provide recommendations for all major project contracts.
  • Monitor and track all buildout activities and provide regular reports.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with project budgets, reporting to stakeholders, and development milestone tracking.
  • Monitor and manage the project proforma ensuring financial viability of each project.
  • Assist in the proposal process for responses to RFPs and other offtake opportunities.
  • Evaluate and provide due diligence support to team regarding potential acquisition projects, counterparties, or sites.
  • Review and provide recommendations for all major project contracts.
  • Utilize Microsoft SharePoint and its native applications, including lists and Power Automate, to efficiently and accurately manage data, collaborate, and manage workflow automation within projects.





Renewable Developer Required Skills/Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in solar and/or battery storage project development, with a strong knowledge of PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, and/or other power markets.
  • Self-starter who excels in fast-paced environments and can manage and organize multiple project schedules simultaneously.
  • Advanced technical skills are highly preferred, particularly in the context of compiling data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and business etiquette.
  • Proven success in building partnerships, working in teams, driving solutions, and managing projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in business, environmental studies, real estate, engineering, law, natural resources, or related fields preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all audiences, including landowners, coworkers, executives, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel, as required, to project sites, meet with landowners, and represent the company at conferences. The potential for travel is approximately 25%.
  • A successful candidate will need to work in matrixed groups and touch all departments. Collaboration and problem-solving skills are required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds.

Travel: As required; potential for overnights is approximately 25%
