Job description

Overview:
This senior position requires expert ability to manage data collection, analysis, trending and reporting relevant to maintain compliance with state and federal regulatory authorities. Understands the business needs of UF Health and applies knowledge of data resources and technical tools to provide valuable information. Supervises performance of ongoing risk assessments, conducting highly detailed analysis and designing risk-mitigating action plans. Performs independent monitoring and auditing and related functions, such as reviews of billing, coding, documentation, and any area covered by Compliance Services. Works independently; adheres to established protocols and procedures; responds to reported, suspected, or confirmed non-compliance in an appropriate manner. Develops and maintains compliance program issue logs and dashboards for reporting to management and boards. Maintains compliance documents and records for compliance committees and boards. Assists in the development and monitoring of annual work plans and compliance projects, with Vice President of Compliance and Privacy, Senior Directors of Compliance and Privacy, Compliance Managers and members of hospital departments. Creates monitoring programs related to compliance risk areas and conducts monitoring activities designed to mitigate compliance risk areas; maps and documents monitoring activities to the elements of an effective compliance program. Assists with development, implementation and oversight of Compliance and Privacy programs across all applicable UF Health entities. Assists/performs privacy access audits.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and 3 years IT applications, database design & structure, and associated reporting; OR Associate's degree in a health or business-related field and 5 years of extensive experience in IT applications, database design & structure, and associated reporting. Compliance experience preferred. Certified Compliance professional (CHC) preferred. Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, state and federal laws and regulations governing the healthcare industry preferred. Advanced level analytical, communication, organizational, editing, and planning skills required. Excellent analytical skills and highly competent in problem definition and development of strategic solutions required. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects. Must be organized, versatile, and able to work independently. Has established a track record of producing work that is highly accurate, demonstrates attention to detail and reflects well on the organization. Must be personally committed to high quality work and encourages others to have similar standards. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive communications and data with discretion. Highly motivated, team oriented, professional and trustworthy. Demonstrated proficiency in database tools such as Access, ACL, Arbutus, Sequel, or others.
