Job Description:
Ensure proper set up of meeting and Banquet facilities by communication effectively through leads to associates and handling guests' requests on the floor to guest expectation and OMNI Standards

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:

Directly responsible for the daily supervision of banquet houseman

Introduce himself to meeting/ convention planner as primary contact while group is in house, follow up daily, reconfirming details

Communicates changes to appropriate departments

Inspects each function room prior to and during breaks to ensure that all requirements are met to the BEO and the client's needs are fulfilled and the hotel standards are met. This includes

a) walls, baseboards, light fixtures cleaned

b) room to be vacuumed thoroughly

c) drapes to be hung properly

d) lighting and temperature control to client's request

e) tablecloths and skirting to be cleaned and pressed

Responsible for initiating and maintaining contact with each Conference Service Manager (CSM) to ensure that all last-minute requests and changes are provided

Meets with banquet housemen daily to ensure that uniforms among all set up crew are in accordance and personal hygiene requirements are met

Reviews daily worksheet and assigns specific duties to each banquet Houseman

Ensures that cleanliness and order of all storage areas is maintained

Ensures the proper use and storage of all Set up equipment

Provides, in conjunction with the Management team, the necessary training for each banquet housemen - follows through to ensure that all housemen consistently maintain high-quality standards

In coordination with the Banquet Director, initiates appropriate disciplinary action for housemen who have committed infractions of the Rules of Conduct as stated in the Omni Hotels Associate Handbook

Plans the daily Setup responsibilities through use of the worksheet.

Conducts monthly MOS audits for all setup associates

Plans and conducts monthly all in meetings

Serve as a supervisor in other Banquet departments as directed or needed.

Participate in the interviewing, hiring and training of new associates.

Complete inventory of equipment and supplies to maintain pars.

Qualifications:
Required skills of proficiencies

Leadership, planning and organizational skills

Time management skills

Extensive verbal and basic written skills

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide

Ability to perform arithmetic operations involving monetary units

Strong customer service skills

Must maintain valid driver's license

Able to remain calm, organized and diplomatic under pressure.

Able to apply common sense and carry out instructions furnished

Basic computer skills

Physical Job Requirements (for essential functions only)

Able to extend arms, hands and able to seize grasp, turn and hold objects with the hand

Able to walk, stand and drive to a significant degree

Able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25-50 pounds frequently, and or 1-25 pounds constantly to move objects

Able to hear and communicate clearly

Have a clear vision of 20 inches or less and be able to distinguish colors

Able to work in an outdoor environment to include fluctuating temperatures, inclement weather, vapors and exhaust unique to the hospitality industry

Must be able to walk, stand and drive/ride to a significant degree or significant number of hours.

Able to work quickly in a high-pressure environment, keeping a calm and polite attitude

Be flexible to schedule changes.
