About the role:
As an AWS Cloud Architect, you'll help design the foundation for how our global fintech platforms perform and scale. Your expertise will influence selecting, operating and administering systems and software for our environment that supports vital business processes.

About the team:

FIS Cloud SRE is looking to add an experienced, professional and energetic AWS Cloud Architect to our growing team. Successful candidates will have a solid background in building enterprise-grade AWS infrastructure to support 99.99% SLA in a highly available, 24/7, public-facing Linux environment. The AWS Cloud Architect will work closely with the Client Services and Product teams to ensure SaaS Operations can exceed SLA, resiliency, and reliability objectives for our Fortune 100 customers. The role is designed for an experienced cloud architect who can not only triage and prioritize when necessary, but also has a strong sense of responsibility and ownership, and can drive a complex problem to completion.

What you will be doing:

Will be working in a highly available, 24/7, public facing Linux environment.

Analyze, design, document and build our next gen operations and deployment infrastructure.

Advocate for and apply best design practices when it comes to availability, scalability, operational excellence and efficiency.

Deploy and enhance components of our ecosystem such as Container Services, Load Balancers, Firewalls, monitoring and alerting tools, etc.

Serve as the subject matter expert for all things AWS Cloud

Maintain ongoing improvement of processes, and best practices to meet security, cost and agility requirements.

Contribute to and maintain design and process documentation.

Continually seek opportunities to improve SLA/Uptime and minimize customer impacts.

Understand, champion and enforce security and compliance policies and procedures.

What you will need:

Experience designing a high availability publicly facing ecosystem with 24/7 uptime and 99.99%+ SLA.

Experience working with commercial products in B2B or B2C environments.

AWS Solutions Architect Certification.

In depth experience deploying AWS AKS, AWS Aurora, AWS RDS, AWS Networking, Storage and CloudWatch.

Experience utilizing scripting languages to automate build and deployment activities.

Working knowledge of Terraform Enterprise (TFE) and associated technologies.

Effectively prioritize deliverables and manage workload to meet deadlines.

The ability to multi-task and work across a range of projects and issues with various timelines and priorities.

Driven, dedicated contributor that expects excellence from him/herself and the team he/she leads.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail.

Broad experience with building and deploying systems/applications on AWS.

Ability to diagram and document designs.

Broad knowledge of architecture of enterprise-level information technology hardware (e.g., WAN, LAN and computer systems and peripherals) and software platforms.

Experience operating commercial, client facing applications in AWS.

Exposure to Terraform and HashiCorp suite of tools.

Knowledge and understanding of networking technologies. (VPN, Load Balancers, Firewalls, Routers, etc.)

Understanding of internet technologies. (Web servers, encryption, XML, HTTP, Web Services, etc.)

Experience with Databases, SQL, LDAP.

Added bonus if you have:

Leadership skills or willingness to go into leadership/management in the future.

Knowledge of FIS products and services a plus but not required

Knowledge of Financial Industry preferred.
