Job Purpose
Job Purpose
The role will be responsible for managing, maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing the Db2 LUW databases. This position will play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our database systems.

Database Management - Installs, configures, maintains the Db2 LUW database systems.

Troubleshooting - Diagnoses and resolves database and SQL issues.

Development and Deployments - Assists developers with developing SQL, Procedures, refreshes, and code/data migrations.

Documentation - Maintains comprehensive documentation of configurations, procedures and policies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
In-depth knowledge of the Db2 LUW architecture and administration.
Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization.
Strong experience in database performance tuning and capacity planning.
Strong understanding of backup and recovery best practices.
Familiarity of database security and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python).
Ability to perform data modeling, as well as design and implement physical databases.
Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for Db2 LUW.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred
Knowledge in other database platforms such as SQL Server, Teradata, and Oracle.
Experience with cloud service providers such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
Certifications such as IBM Certified Database Administrator or similar certifications.
