Job description

We are currently searching for a Grants Administrator to join a local non-profit looking to hire asap!

General Responsibilities:

  1. Assists and Supports faculty and staff in the creation and organization of research proposals, contracts, sub-contracts, and agreements. This includes budget planning, documentation management, and understanding of funding criteria.
  2. Examines and assesses contract and grant budgets to ensure accurate calculation of expense categories including salaries, percentage of effort, salary adjustment increments, fringe benefits, indirect expenses, materials, and equipment.
  1. Manages and oversees the planning, design, execution, and maintenance of financial systems, as associated policies and procedures, to effectively track and control the organization's income and expenditures across all entities.
  2. Prepares necessary acceptance documents and secures official signatures from the University. Makes recommendations for approval or rejection of any deviations from contract specifications.
  1. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures for negotiating contract and grant pre-awards and post-awards in accordance with university requirements; conducts research on applicable federal, state, and local regulations to ensure compliance by all parties; facilitates arbitration and resolution of conflicting interests when necessary.
  2. Facilitates the receipt of awards and contract documentation; maintains accurate records of proposals and funding in database systems; prepares regular and ad-hoc reports, studies, and analyses.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in making sound administrative and procedural decisions.
  • Skilled in organizing and coordinating tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex projects and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Experienced in maintaining accurate records.
  • Capable of writing persuasive proposals and grants.
  • Efficient in preparing comprehensive research reports and proposals.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and community funding sources and mechanisms.
  • Competent in database management.
  • Proficient in mathematics.
  • Adept at providing technical advice and information to faculty and staff within area of expertise.
  • Demonstrates negotiation and arbitration skills.
  • Capable of analyzing budgetary line items for compliance with established guidelines.
  • Familiar with computer-aided research administration systems.
  • Skilled in conducting information research.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Extensive knowledge of grant funding policies, procedures, as well as local, state, federal, and university regulations.
  • Demonstrats a comprehensive understanding of intellectual property laws, guidelines, and policies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field. Master's Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated history of receiving local and/or state awards
  • Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration
  • Valid driver's license
