Job description
Overview: The Contingency Inventory Manager when hired will oversee the inventory operations of Government-owned mission stock and will direct employees engaged in conducting Distribution Standard system DSS or other Warehouse Management System inventories, researching inventory discrepancies and documenting gains and losses through causative research, performing denial research, item data maintenance and location surveys. When hired, the Contingency Inventory Manager will be responsible for records and maintains control of all inventory items purchased and produces. Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring the inventory integrity of the Government-owned mission stock meets the acceptable performance levels outlined in the contract. Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on workload projections on a weekly or monthly bases. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences IAW general work schedules, methods, and policies established by the Site Manager and/or Alternate Site Manager. Redirects workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations. Conducts planning of current and future work schedules. Providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs. Recommendations as to the scheduling of project work. Ensures work is done properly and efficiently IAW the terms and condition of the contract. Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures. Responsible for data and inventory control. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: Ensures area of responsibility is operating in agreement with all referenced DLA Distribution SOPs, addendums, FRAGOS, and Process Manuals as required for day to day operational processing and preparation for any audit event. The Inventory Manager manages a team of Inventory Technicians and Specialists. Responsible for compliance with the Audit Assertion Program reporting and documentation requirements, to include monthly assertion reporting that assigned areas of responsibility are ready for audit and or corrective action plans are documented and being corrected if an assertion cannot be made. Responsible for the Audit Assertion Program functional areas of COSIS and Physical Inventory Processes. Education and/or Experience: GED or equivalent, college degree a plus. Three (3) years' minimum experience in inventory using DSS or equivalent automated Warehouse Management System (WMS) within the past five (5) years. Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to lead a team in a warehouse setting. Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision. Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment, and have a strong attention for detail. Experience with DSS and other Government-Furnished Data Systems. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to use and instruct others in the use of DSS Systems and Query Management Facility (QMF) to perform the requirements in the PWS. Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively and lead a team under a minimum of supervision from Program Manager. Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment, and have a strong attention for detail and the ability to lead others to do so. Knowledge and ability to teach and lead safety procedures. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: N/A Security Clearance: Position requires U.S. Citizenship, a US Government background check and may require a US Government SECRET ClearanceIf SECRET Clearance Level is required, candidate must also: Have a current US Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Investigation Be able to maintain a US Government SECRET clearance Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
