Remote Outpatient Multispecialty Coder

Position: Remote Multispecialty Outpatient Medical Coder

Work Model: 6-Month Contract to Hire (Long term & Permanent)

Location: East Coast or Central, USA (Remote)

Pay: $25-32/HR

Requirements:

• 3+ years of outpatient medical coding experience.
• Formal ICD-10-CM and CTP training required
• Recent/Current Multispecialty experience in - Orthopedics, Neurology, and Primary Care experience is required
• Experience with EPIC is required
• Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).

Responsibilities:

• Accurately code hospital outpatient accounts using ICD-10-CM/PCS coding systems.
• Deciphers operative reports and other physician medical record documentation to appropriately select codes and maximize charge capture.
• Ensures coding compliance with established standards and guidelines.
• Evaluate documentation issues in consultation with medical and clinical staff.
• Utilize coding references, software tools, and electronic health records to ensure efficient coding practices.
