Summary You will serve as a Pneudraulic Systems Mechanic in the FRCSE Jacksonville of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST. Duties You will examine aircraft, engines, components, and load work orders for routing to verify processing and pneudraulic systems rework is accomplished. You will interpret blueprints, detailed specifications, or technical directives to determine rework required on aircraft or components. You will evaluate the qualitative condition of pneudraulic systems to validate they conform to test and calibration specifications. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. Temporary actions taken under this announcement may be made permanent without further competition. This position requires rotating shift work. You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. This position requires exposure to high noise levels. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do to the work of the position without more than normal supervision performing duties such as:
Assembling/disassembling, modifying, testing, adjusting, troubleshooting, and repairing complex hydraulic, peudraulic, pneumatic and electrical accessories
Ordering and replacing prescribed parts; checking the dimensions and tolerances and determining serviceability of parts; pre-testing and performing operational testing of complex Pneudraulic systems using knowledge of the integration of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical subsystems
Determining the extent of repair required to complete complex systems, as well as, subsystems, and components
Running pre-operational and maintenance checks on test equipment
Using complex prints, schematics, manuals, and technical documents
Operating precision measuring dimensional and pressure devices; operating electrical and electronic measuring devices.
