Job Opportunity: Structural Steel Estimator

Company Overview:GPAC is collaborating with a reputable manufacturing company that specializes in the fabrication and installation of structural steel for the commercial construction industry. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join their team.

Qualifications:


  • Experience: 5 years in the structural steel industry, specifically with Tekla EPM software.
  • Expertise: Proficient in structural steel fabrication and erection.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with current structural steel codes and standards.
  • Blueprint Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Cost Calculation: Skilled in preparing estimates and calculating costs.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant industry software.
  • Communication: Strong organizational and communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and review estimates for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Monitor changes in project scope.
  • Ensure all material, labor, and equipment costs are accurately included in estimates.
  • Conduct accurate material take-offs.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective strategies.

Job Functions:


  • Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Foster relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between estimates and actual costs.
  • Monitor project progress and recommend changes to meet timelines and budgets.
  • Produce estimates, bids, and proposals for projects.
  • Analyze materials, labor, and equipment costs for accuracy.

Skills:


  • Strong understanding of the structural steel fabrication and erection processes.
  • Proficient in Tekla EPM software and related tools.
  • Knowledge of current structural steel codes and standards.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits:


  • Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package included.
