Role:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and actively managing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards, and supporting the financial reporting process. This role requires a strategic, analytical thinker who can effectively lead a team and collaborate with various departments. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with GAAP, as well as leading the monthly close process for both corporate and divisional entities.

Min Compensation:

Responsibilities:
Ensures timely and accurate closing of the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses

Oversees the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance requirements

Manages and participates in monthly close process and adhere to deadlines within the reporting structure. Participation will include performing key account reconciliations, managing allowances and preparing and reviewing journal entries

Provides financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making

Monitors and reports on key financial metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement

Develops, implements, and maintains effective internal control policies and procedures

Ensures compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and reporting requirements

Identifies and mitigates risks associated with financial operations

Authors and supports key internal control policies and initiatives

Coordinates and manages external audits, providing necessary documentation and support

Collaborates with various departments, including finance, operations, and executive management, to support organizational goals and initiatives

Provides financial expertise and guidance to support business decisions and strategic planning

Supports private equity stakeholders, providing accurate and timely financial information as needed

Completes assigned tasks in a safe, accurate, thorough, and alert manner

Upholds Company policies and procedures

Works in a professional manner with managers, supervisors, coworkers, customers, and the public

Other related duties as assigned

Has supervisory responsibility for delivering value-added results through effective recruitment, delegation, performance management, training, and development of employees in the following positions:

Staff Accountant

Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards

Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing accounting team

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels

High attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines

Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office including advanced skills in Excel (Pivot tables, Vlookup, Macros, If Statements, Formulas)

Ability to coordinate, contribute to and work within a cross-functional team

Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Able to prioritize duties and manage multiple projects from start to finish with minimal supervision

Must possess the ability to take initiative to complete assignments and job responsibilities with minimal supervision

Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

Ability to travel on occasion

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a four-year accredited university

CPA or CMA certification preferred

Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience

Previous management experience

Previous experience in a large corporate environment, preferably within a private equity-owned company

Public accounting experience preferred

Previous experience in HVAC Industry or other service business preferred

Physical requirements:

Continuously able to work in office environment

Continuously able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, telephone, and computer printer

Continuously able to sit at a computer for up to 8 hours

Able to alternate between sitting and standing, as needed throughout the day

Occasionally able to lift up to 15 lbs.

Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking

Occasionally requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching

Rarely requires climbing

Ability to travel on occasion
