This role will work with internal and external customers to design, develop, and field Cloud architectures that meet the systems requirements and be involved through the systems development lifecycle, including pursuit, developing a technical baseline, developing requirements, system level software design, integration support, and system level testing and selloff. Provide hands-on assistance to implementation and R&D teams to execute the development of awarded programs. Serve as technical expert in latest industry trends, tools and methodologies to continuously improve the delivery of our solutions.

Essential Functions:

  • Support development and integration of Satellite Ground Systems solutions
  • Work with team lead to help decompose the work needed to implement new features or address defects within the operational software.
  • Work with the development team using agile methodologies combined with mature software practices and a technology-supported development infrastructure.
  • Develop new software and adapt existing software by implementing new capabilities.
  • Maintain cognizance of industry tools, best practices, and procedures.
  • Interface with customers to understand use cases and define requirements, design Cloud capable solutions, support system level testing, and field the solution in customer environments to support the mission
  • Communicate with leadership on status, issues, milestones, and successes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Cloud platform experience (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), IaC, Kubernetes, Ansible,
  • Application programing with Java/C++, python, javascript/nodejs
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance
  • Satellite ground systems development and integration
  • Comfortable using Linux and Linux tools (sed, grep, awk, top, etc.).,
  • Scripting knowledge of at least one of the following: Perl, c-shell, bash, python,
  • Postgres or other SQL database experience
  • Experience with Agile development processes (Agile, Scrum, Continuous Delivery)
  • AWS Cloud certification(s)
  • Agile SAFe Certification
  • Excellent ability to analyze problems and to focus and drive down to the root cause of problems quickly.
