Job Title: Manager, Systems Integration & Testing Job Code: 13856 Job Location: Melbourne, FL Job Schedule: 9/80 Job Description: L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Communications Systems (CS) segment's Brevard Engineering operations. The role will report directly to the CS Brevard Sr. Engineering Manager for the SI&T department. The Engineering Manager for SI&T will be responsible for managing a team of approximately twenty engineers, ensuring the successful application of integration and testing policies, and support the hiring and staffing needs set by the Sr. Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in test and integration in the defense industry, with a strong background in managing diverse teams. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a team of multidisciplinary engineers, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and provide technical guidance and support to various programs. Essential Functions: Reports to Sr. Eng. Manager for the department, leads a team of approximately 20 members, and is responsible for their performance management, training gaps, and professional development
Responsible for executing workforce and staffing plans set by the Sr. Engineering Manager for the department to ensure availability of human capital necessary to accomplish departmental business results
Has hiring and compensation authority within own department, in accordance with management review and approval
Manage staffing performance issues including PIPs under review of Sr. Eng. Mgr. and HR New Employee Onboarding including IT requests, check-ins, and logistics for new hires
Must have RF and Satcom knowledge
Experience with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, power meters
Experience with writing/developing test documentation (test plans, test procedures, test reports, test readiness reviews, etc.)
Test Execution and experience performing tests while being monitored by customers (acceptance test procedures, functional tests, formal qualification tests, etc.)
Experience with environmental testing and MIL-STD-810 (seismic, vibration, etc.)
Effective communication skills in a collaborative team environment
Excellent organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills: 3+ years' experience in managing high performance engineering teams
5+ years systems experience in the integration and test of secure military communications systems
5+ years' experience with system integration and test of complex communications systems in a multi-disciplinary environment
5+ years' experience with allocation of system requirements to test requirements
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Travel up to 20%
SI&T engineering experience, including development of test strategies, plans, procedures, and reports; integration and test conduct; and use of data collection and analysis tools
Experience with DOORS or JIRA Experience with test automation development and frameworks
Familiarity with RF, mechanical, and electrical engineering disciplines
