The Assistant Director of Nursing will oversee and ensure the quality and effectiveness of faculty-led instruction while delivering high-quality education to nursing students on campus. The role will primarily focus on nursing programs and will involve coordination between the campuses. The ADON is also responsible for achieving program outcomes; course completion, program completion, NCLEX pass rate at first attempt, and job placement. The ADON must have a passion for nursing education, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to student success. The campus pass rate is currently 100%.
Responsibilities:
Monitors and evaluates to ensure quality education and faculty effectiveness through classroom observation and performance reviews.
Oversees the daily operations of a nursing unit at the campus, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to standards.
Address and resolve concerns and issues raised by both faculty and students promptly and effectively.
Tracks and reviews the progress of nursing students with faculty and success coach by providing necessary support and interventions.
Delivers high-quality instruction to nursing students, ensuring engaging and effective learning experiences.
Hold regular office hours (minimum of five days weekly) to provide accessible support to students and faculty.
Conducts follow-up with nursing graduates, providing guidance, and coaching for NCLEX exam preparation.
Provides guidance and coaching to nursing graduates when preparing for the NCLEX exam.
Conducts faculty orientation and follow-up on their performance through classroom observations.
Conducts student advisement for academic, attendance, and/or behavioral issues and compliance.
Ensures that all clinical records, skills checklist, students' clinical evaluation tool, and other clinical assignments are completed and kept accordingly.
Expresses enthusiasm for teaching and is willing to aid students in the learning process.
Requirements
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE
Active and encumbered of Florida license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
A master's degree in nursing is required.
Active BLS certification; American Heart Association.
Three or more years of teaching experience required
Experience in nursing administration.
Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS Office products as needed.
