The Installation Technician II is responsible for the permanent installation and setup of Audio, Video, Lighting, and Control equipment and systems for our world-class customers. The AV Installation Technician I will perform installation tasks including but not limited to cable pulls, cable terminations, system equipment and components, rack fabrication and wiring layout for equipment as well as the ability to troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise.

Your day will look like this:

Set up and install audio and visual equipment, including displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, lighting and other audio, video, lighting, and control systems and equipment as needed.

Run wires and build racks meticulously to terminate a variety of signal cabling including balanced and unbalanced audio cabling, analog and digital video cabling, shielded and unshielded category cabling, serial cabling, speaker cabling, fiber optic cables, etc.

Adjust audio/visual systems to optimize performance levels, including audio tuning for musicality and feedback control.

Work from and interpret sales orders, manuals, technical drawings, schematics, designs, blueprints, layouts, power requirements, renderings, cable risers, and other engineering documentation.

Install equipment in existing client facilities or in facilities under construction, where requirements and layouts have been defined by others. Pulling cable and wire, making connections and terminations, hanging projectors, flat panel monitors, speakers, screens, lighting, and other peripheral devices, building racks, following labeling conventions, and various other tasks associated with audio visual technology.

Assist in the testing and debugging of completed installations to insure proper system functionality.

Record and report on installation time and project status as well as daily feedback to the Site Supervisor and/or Project Manager.

Maintain cleanliness of all parts, tools, and equipment in all work areas including company vehicles, workrooms, and especially customer locations.

Responsible for all applicable job-related paperwork and reports, such as daily field reports, material sheets, inventory and maintenance reports, expense reports, and timesheets.

Adhere to safety protocols and best practices during installation activities, including proper handling of equipment, compliance with electrical codes, and safe work practices at elevated heights or in confined spaces.

Provide a consistent level of technical performance as well as flexibility in work schedule.

Other duties as assigned

Your profile:

Minimum 2 years of experience in the integration/installation of audiovisual equipment field.

High School Diploma or equivalent

AVIXA CTS is preferred.

Familiarity with a wide range of audio, video, lighting, control, and networking equipment

Experience installing Crestron/AMX/Extron/Q-Sys control systems preferred.

Possess basic carpentry and/or installation skills.

Proficient use and safety with power tools

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Good verbal communication skills

Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.

Ability to work in a team as well as independently.

Full availability: including 2nd and 3rd shifts, weekends and holidays as required.

This position requires periodic overtime and may require regular overtime for extended periods to meet deadlines.

Must have a clean driving record and have reliable transportation.

Knowledge of sound systems, lighting, video and/or videoconference control equipment

Knowledge of carpentry: chemical and mechanical anchorage, passing cabling, etc.

Knowledgeable of low voltage electrical concepts

Knowledge of AutoCAD Viewer, an asset

Excellent knowledge of Office365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook)

Work Requirements:

Time will be spent in an office setting when not on a jobsite.

Time will be spent on construction sites.

Flexible schedule and able to work nights and weekends as needed.

Environment may be fast paced.

Frequent Interstate Travel required

Valid Driver's License
