We are looking for a Transactions Accountant. This position reports to the Director, Treasury & Banking Operations while working closely with the Director of Sales Operations. Tact and discretion will be essential as the incumbent will liaise between developers and the brokerage.

Responsibilities

Reporting To: Director, Treasury & Banking Operations

Billing - Consolidate Developer Billing Function

Draws

Marketing Expenses

Digital Adverting Fees

Reimbursable Salaries

Commissions (to be provided by Sales Operations Coordinator)

Entries - Responsible for entering the following into the system (currently Spark)

Enter draws paid

Commissions credits

Keep balances per Agent (including General Real Estate deals - interface with Transactions Dept.)

Accounts Receivables

o Commissions

o Draws

o Marketing Fees

o Etc.

Commissions Processing

Process and reconcile transactions for sales and rental real estate closings.

Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all sales-related contracts and commission data processing

Process contracts and closed transactions using a real estate transaction system

Play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the company, interacting daily with agents, sales managers, transaction coordinators and the Finance and Accounting team.

Issue commission payments to sales agents, while tracking referral payments, agent fees, loans, draws and deductions.

Ensure all commission calculation is correct and within policy, contract with developers and ICA with agents

Request stop payment on agent commission checks, process corrections and adjustments

Provide prompt and enthusiastic support to Development Division Leadership, Sales Managers, Agents and Transaction Coordinators in response to inquiries regarding commission payouts, deductions, and commission calculations

Process changes to agent commission splits; annual review and change in commission tables

Submit Reimbursement Invoices to Developers (as needed)

Reports

Provide reporting as needed to various stakeholders.

Other Accounting Functions

Reconciliate overrides, royalties, etc. (from system)

Receive checks, etc. + deposit them into the Development Division account

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field

5+ yrs. of related accounting experience specifically in Residential Development Projects

Real estate industry knowledge

Strong excel skills/MS Office and proficient in Excel.

Impeccable attention to detail and solid customer service attitude desired

Ability to learn in-house platforms / systems

Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Strong quantitative skills desired
