Job description
The Air Force SEEK EAGLE (AFSEO) team is looking for a software test engineer willing to take the initiative and be a part of a challenging mission. Our mission planning component is moving towards the future of mission planning for the Air Force and future weapons. Next Generation Open Mission System (NOMS) architecture is the next great effort for the Air Force SEEK EAGLE organization, the Air Force and the Navy - we need innovative and motivated team members to lead the transition.
The Software Tester will support the Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office.
Essential Job Functions:
This position offers the Tester an opportunity to be part of the creative force generating next generation weapon delivery and analysis software for USAF warfighters.
The ideal candidate will be a strong team player, be an innovative thinker, be dedicated to a team, possess excellent communication skills, and work collaboratively in an Agile software development environment.
Collaborates with software developers, testers and Product Owners to analyze, estimate, design and implement features and user stories.
Participates in iteration planning meetings with testers and Subject Matter Experts (SME), daily stand ups, and technical coordination meetings for reporting issues, planning, and providing status.
Works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and project management in analyzing new functional requirements while providing feasibility assessments and level of effort.
Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output or content.
Follows team's software test process and procedures.
Peer reviews features, user stories and test tasks associated with new requirements.
Works hand-in-hand with Product Owners and government Program Managers to ensure all requirements meet Air Force vision.
Designs test plans, test scripts, scenarios or procedures for functional requirements.
Documents, tracks and reports defects to software developers.
Works with technical lead and senior developers in deriving functional requirements from high level government requests.
Contributes to technical documentation and software delivery documents for the delivery component.
Participate in Air Force Seek Eagle process improvement programs.
Other duties when needed upon request from management.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
A High School Diploma plus 10 years of experience, an Associates Degree plus 10 years or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus at least 5 years of related weapon planning and/or mission planning experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Experience with Test Complete software.
Experience with all Microsoft Office products.
Knowledge of microservices and service based architecture.
Experience with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Jira, Jira Align and Confluence.
Knowledge of weapons, aircraft and mission planning.
Experience using Virtual Machines for test environment and setup.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to brief staff level officers on a daily basis.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with Web based GUI testing and individual component training.
Familiarity with Testing Tools (Jenkins, Git and Cypress.
Desire to work in a DoD environment with the latest aircraft and weapons.
