Overview:
As we transition from The Newport Hotel to The Sunny, we're embracing a new chapter that includes renovations and enhancements to redefine guest experiences and elevate our brand. We're seeking an experienced and hands on Director of Engineeringto oversee these transformative projects, ensuring each renovation aligns with our vision for a modern, welcoming, and sustainable hotel. This is a pivotal role for a technical leader who thrives on managing both strategic upgrades and daily operations.

Responsibilities:
What you will be doing:

Manage ongoing renovations, new installations, and maintenance projects as part of the hotel's rebranding and enhancement plan.

Develop energy-saving programs and implement eco-friendly practices aligned with modern hospitality standards.

Build, mentor, and supervise a team of engineers and maintenance staff, ensuring high performance and a safety-oriented culture.

Develop and oversee the engineering budget, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and project execution.

Ensure efficient operation of all physical assets, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building safety.

Ensure all regulatory and safety standards are met, conducting regular audits and inspections.

Qualifications:
What we are looking for:

7+ years of experience in engineering within the hospitality sector, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.

Strong project management skills, particularly with hotel renovations and rebranding.

Knowledge of sustainable practices and modern building technologies.

Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to respond to emergencies.
