ACCOUNTING MANAGER - HYBRID & W/L BALANCE

- plus bonus

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Accounting Manager to join their growing division. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting operations. This is a full-time position and will report to the Director of Corporate Accounting and Finance in a large stable organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
  • Ensure that financial reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Create and monitor internal controls, including maintaining the chart of accounts, fixed asset inventory, and depreciation schedules
  • Develop and maintain annual budgets and monthly forecasting models
  • Review journal entries for monthly and year-end financial statements
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, board of directors, and external stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to proper revenue recognition for both contributions and earned revenue
  • Maintain support of balance sheet accounts, including cash, receivables, fixed assets, prepaid expense, inventories, accounts payable, program deposits, accrued payroll, and deferred revenue
  • Prepare supporting schedules for annual audit(s) and IRS Form 990, including the statement of financial position
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax payments and filings, including sales tax
  • Collaborate with departmental staff and directors to ensure accurate financial information
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insight and recommendations to senior management
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting and tax laws (+)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of the organization
