Accounting Supervisor - W/L Balance & Succession planning to Controller

$80 000 - $95 000

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Supervisor to join their family-oriented team with a work-hard, play-hard mentality. This position will have a succession plan to the Controller seat. The ideal candidate will enjoy a "hands-on" environment with 1 direct report.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
• Ensure that financial reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Review journal entries for monthly and year-end financial statements
• Ensure adherence to proper revenue recognition
• Maintain support of balance sheet accounts, including cash, receivables, fixed assets, prepaid expense, inventories, accounts payable, program deposits, accrued payroll, and deferred revenue
• Prepare supporting schedules for annual audit(s) and IRS Form 990, including the statement of financial position
• Ensure timely and accurate tax payments and filings, including sales tax

Qualifications of the Accounting Supervisor opportunity:

• Associates or Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field
• Knowledge of Construction accounting (+)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
