Position Summary

The Business Intelligence Manager plays a critical role in leveraging data insights to drive growth and enhance performance within the pharmacy department. This position leads the analysis and interpretation of pharmacy data, collaborates with business leaders, and manages a team of pharmacy analysts.



Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders to develop and refine standard and ad-hoc pharmacy reports, identifying and analyzing trends to inform decision-making.
  • Support pharmacy leadership in researching and understanding industry trends to develop sustainable models for pharmacy care delivery.
  • Develop custom dashboards and reports utilizing advanced technologies and data visualization tools, including Power BI, SQL, and Microsoft Access.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support for pharmacy analysts.
  • Foster skill development among team members in utilizing business intelligence tools.
  • Develop guidelines or protocols to standardize data dictionaries, tables, and data entry processes within Pharmacy, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in data-related operations.
  • Conduct data validation and integrity checks to maintain data quality.
  • Assist users in ensuring their expectations are met during reviews of data (dashboards).
  • Provide training as needed to users and stakeholders.
  • Maintain ongoing liaison with relevant departments such as Ambulatory & Post Acute Services, IT, and the Enterprise Analytics team to identify opportunities to improve data management and analytics.
  • Collaborate with vendors to address organizational analytics needs, request product enhancements, and facilitate user training.
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.

Education/Training

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Expertise in Power BI required.
  • Proficiency with database user interface, query, and reporting software (SQL) required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SQL Server and related platforms and software.
  • Knowledge of analytical or statistical software (R, Python) preferred.
  • Experience with pharmacy-specific software (e.g., Epic Willow, Omnicell) or other EHR preferred.


Licensure/Certification

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.


Experience

  • Five (5) years of strong data management and data analysis experience, with 1-2 years supervising or leading other people.
  • Healthcare experience and pharmacy experience preferred.
