Leidos is seeking a Modernization Solution Architect to join the Multi-Domain Solutions team and provide technical leadership and for delivering innovative solutions, products, and services in support of modernization of US Army and US AirForce strategies. This role will be responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership, and operational excellence in developing differentiated solutions across the enterprise in technology areas such as Modeling and Simulation, DevSecOps, cloud and cloud migration, Micro-Service Architectures, microservices, AI/ML, data mesh/fabric, zero trust, and other industry leading digital modernization solutions. The successful candidate will have the current knowledge and hands on experience with advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories that support command and control software development, innovative solution designs.

Primary Responsibilities:

Leads the development of concepts and capabilities to be incorporated into JADC2 solutions and offerings applicable across defense operational domains, which further customer initiatives to achieve Combined/JADC2 objectives. Focus areas will be both internal and customer funded efforts with an emphasis on scaled, distributed software-based solutions.

Bridges vision to defined solutions that fuse Leidos' and partners' related capabilities that advance Leidos' ability to anticipate and deliver DoD-wide JADC2 initiatives into practical operational solutions.

Works across the MDS Division to define its role in and mature its capabilities for development and modernization of complex DoD systems with a focus on software-based solutions, expanding the MDS Division's application of and contribution to Leidos enterprise capabilities.

Represents the C4ISR Operation in enterprise-wide efforts aligned with the role, to ensure that MDS is incorporated into Leidos' Digital Engineering approach and how MDS enables advanced CI/CD models for complex operational systems.

Works to secure cross-organization buy-in on solutions that move from current practices toward agreement/acceptance of new concepts, practices, and approaches.

Works with technical staff and Business Development personnel to understand customer needs; leads development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results.

Performs technical execution leadership on a combination of customer and internally funded programs and projects.

Aligns solutions to the MDS technology investment vision under the direction of the MDS CTO.

Works to secure cross-organization buy-in on solutions that move from current practices toward agreement/acceptance of new concepts, practices, and approaches.

Leads the strategic planning and execution of IRAD projects, ensuring alignment with MDS strategic goals and emerging market trends to drive innovation and competitive advantage.

Develops and proposes new research initiatives based on market analysis, customer needs, and technological advancements.

Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree in computer science or a related field with 13-20 years of prior relevant experience.

A broad understanding of current and emerging relevant JADC2 systems, and operational constructs, and agile DevSecOps methodologies, including classified systems and customers.

Experience in creation and delivery of papers and briefings demonstrating thought leadership, as well as supporting various collaborative efforts through customer interaction.

Familiarity with programming languages (like Java, Python, C#), version control systems (like Jira), and development frameworks.

Strong communication skills.

US Citizenship is required. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must possess a TS clearance and meet eligibility requirements for a TS/SCI security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience architecting modern technology solutions, Knowledge of current and emerging Federal standards such as CMMI, NIST Risk Management Framework, FISMA and FEDRAMP.

Experience developing solutions architectures using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods.

Familiarity with secured data including multi-level classified data.

Experience leading the development of innovative distributed software solutions in support of major capture and proposal efforts, balancing these solutions against cost, schedule, function, quality, and other business considerations.

Direct experience working with relevant DoD user and acquisition organizations.

Experience in support of and participation in transition of programs from capture/proposal to execution.

Experience engaging in business development and capture efforts in the role of Solution Architect.

Active TS/SCI security clearance.
