Job description

Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Clinical Practice Optimization will ensure that Orlando Health Cancer Institute's clinical quality of care and efficiency standards are consistently aligned and implemented throughout all ambulatory practices. This will include working collaboratively with operational and clinical leaders in each service line, to serve as a strategic partner in restructuring clinical workflows and standards, while increasing efficiency and utilization amongst the practices.

Responsibilities

Coordination and enhancement of operational services focusing on quality, clinic efficiency, provider satisfaction, and customer experience throughout service lines.

Ensure alignment of clinical services across Orlando Health Cancer Institute locations to provide a unified standard of quality, safety, and patient care.

Coordinates assessments of clinical recognition program gap analysis and proposes action plans for identified gaps. In collaboration with nursing leadership develops strategies to implement the vision and plans for attainting or retaining recognitions.

Provide constructive communication on performance improvement initiatives, transformation guidance, and continued education until goal achieved. Track post-assessment recommendations in appropriate intervals.

Develops and communicates clinical quality and risk optimization strategies to key stakeholders. Coordinates final planning of strategies with senior leadership prior to deployment of services.

Partners with corporate learning to provide standardized, appropriate onboarding for clinical team members, while meeting the individual educational needs of each service line.

Partners with clinical leaders from each service line frequently to assess needs and to effectively implement optimization strategies.

Ability to resolve complex process issues and implement solutions to meet the mission and vision of the organization.

Strong understanding of process improvement, inpatient/outpatient clinical care, and clinical role definition.

Connects frequently with inpatient nursing leaderships one ways to enhance the experience of patients and quality of care between inpatient and outpatient areas.

Experience with merging clinical operations with new acquisitions and integration of clinical and cultural models.

Ability to lead teams and projects with direction and confidence, while managing several projects concurrently.

Effective communicator, active listener, with the ability to collaborate with physicians, providers, clinical leaders, administrators, and patients.

Lead workgroups related to ambulatory policies, procedures and standard operating procedures and participates in corporate policy and nursing committees.

Work closely with risk management on trends and implementation of interventions to mitigate risk in the practices.

Own strategic and clinical initiatives that relate to clinical job scope of practice.

Requirements

Education

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).

Licensure/Certification

Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.

Maintains Florida RN license.

Experience

Oncology experience is required.

A minimum of 5 years nursing experience is required.

A minimum of 2 years in ambulatory nursing leadership is required.

Experience in project management preferred.
