Overview:
The Sr Director of Sheet Metal Operations is responsible for overall planning, executing, and financial related activities of the Sheet Metal Operation in different regions. This includes direct reporting from Business Unit Managers, Operations Managers, Project Managers, Field Superintendents and the Sheet Metal Fabrication Director. They have a "roll up the sleeves" mentality to address and resolves business issues and inspire their team to do the same.
Responsibilities:
The Sr Director of Sheet Metal Operations- Large Commercial Construction Projects is responsible for overall planning, executing, and financial related activities of the Sheet Metal Operation in different regions. This includes direct reporting from Business Unit Managers, Operations Managers, Project Managers, Field Superintendents and the Sheet Metal Fabrication Director. They have a "roll up the sleeves" mentality to address and resolves business issues and inspire their team to do the same.
Specific responsibilities include:
Directs and oversees different region's Sheet Metal Operations and provides guidance for Sheet Metal fabrication in coordination with the Fabrication Director.
Ensures all established costs, quality and delivery commitments are met.
Ensures that all manpower forecasts are accurate and timely.
Ensures that all estimates have all appropriate materials costs and labor hours.
Interfaces with internal and external stakeholders of the Project and Company.
Provides coaching and mentoring opportunities on a regular basis with all Regional Sheet Metal Employees.
Works collaboratively to develop training programs that can be used across all area.
Develops and leads best practice across all sheet metal projects in the region on processes related to Scheduling, Inventory Management, and Quality and to ensure implementation.
Functional performance management of all direct reports.
Focusing on Safety indicators and concern reporting to drive a no injury culture.
Works closely with Fabrication shop to ensure timely completion of sheet metal projects.
This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to the Executive Vice President.
Qualifications:
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
10+ year's relevant industry experience in Construction Operations Management.
Experience leading Sheet Metal Projects of greater than $10M.
Must have held a senior leadership position within an organization with multiple direct reports.
A strategic visionary with sound leadership skills, analytical ability, good judgement and strong operational and corporate development skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
8-10 years of Sheet Metal relevant industry experience.
Travel Requirements
0-20% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Climbing stairs.
Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Quiet environment.
Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
