Job Summary: The Geophysical Sensor Operations Analyst will assist the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) with creating and maintaining the United States Prompt Diagnostic System (USPDS), which falls under the National Technical Nuclear Forensics (NTNF) mission. The NTNF leverages AFTAC to detect, identify, and characterize nuclear events and to report nuclear forensic information to national authorities. The USPDS is a fully integrated, terrestrially based, geographically dispersed, centrally managed prompt detection and reporting system. Responsibilities: Collect, process, transmit, and analyze forensic data phenomena.
Provide technical analytical support in the areas of speed of Sound (SOS), speed of light (SOL) technologies (seismic, overpressure, infrasound).
Review daily data feeds for review to discern, identify, and document man-made phenomena verses naturally occurring phenomena.
Work with AFTAC Government operations and subject matter experts (SME's) to understand background noise at sensor sites and their impact on data evaluation and review.
Document any state of health (SOH) issues with sensors, software, or communication systems from an estimated 75 sensor locations.
Utilizing AFTAC provided templates, the analyst will document standard operating procedures, checklists, and concept of operations baselines and changes that occur as duties are refined.
Utilizing the AFTAC engineering change request/recommendation (CR) form, make recommendations on criteria to automate data evaluations to reduce data reviews and provide technical support with automation of review procedures.
Work with AFTAC Government operations and subject matter experts (SME's) to understand background noise at sensor sites and their impact on data evaluation and review.
Utilizing the AFTAC engineering CR form, document any state of health (SOH) issues with sensors, software, or communication systems.
Utilizing AFTAC provided templates, document standard operating procedures, checklists, and concept of operations baselines and changes that occur. Requirements: Must be a US citizen.
Must have an active Top-secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
BA or BS degree with three (3) or more years of experience.
In lieu of a degree, four (4) or more years of relevant experience.
Ability to write technical reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
Strong oral and written communications skills, in addition to interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished orally or in writing.
Successful background and drug screening check.Preferred Requirements: AFTAC Experience.
USPDS Experience.
NTNF Program Experience.
