The Forklift Operator is responsible for shifting material around the metal warehouse and preparing it for shipping. Duties include assisting customers, transferring material to the proper location, preparing it for shipment and loading the outbound shipment. Promote a safe, secure and healthy work environment while keeping equipment clean and well maintained.

What You'll Be Doing:

Safely operate forklift to load and unload scrap metal materials, bales, bins, boxes, crates, etc. onto and from customer trailers, truck beds, bins, and other cargo as needed

Pack or wrap material by hand; load, wrap, and prepare pallets for shipment

Perform daily maintenance and inspections on equipment such as lubricating, fueling

Complete daily inspection reports

Equipment and site cleanup

Other duties as assigned

Skills you have:

High level of customer service to the people we serve

Excellent attention to safety

Effective communication

Education & Experience:

Previous forklift experience preferred

OSHA/safety certification a plus

High School Diploma/GED preferred
