Job Overview: The Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical support to the comptroller to support the financial health of the organization. This role ensures that all financial records, payroll and member services are up to date and accurate. The Accounting Assistant will work hand in hand with the comptroller to fulfill the daily, weekly and monthly needs of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities for the Accounting Assistant:

• The Accounting Assistant will provide support to the Comptroller with administrative tasks, including filing, phone management, mail processing, and email/calendar updates.
• Perform bookkeeping tasks such as billing, posting sales journals, cash receipts, member statements, payroll data entry, and processing AP checks.
• Count inventory and coordinate new members with the Membership Chair.
• The Accounting Assistant will handle communications with members and vendors via phone, email, and in-person.

Qualifications desired for the Accounting Assistant:

• Education: Associates degree in accounting preferred but not required
• Experience: 2+ years with similar accounting duties
• Skills: Proficient with POS systems, accounting software, and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail, skilled in multi-tasking and effective communication skills. This candidate is a proactive self-starter with an eye for accuracy.

Location: Tampa, FL, Part-Time, up to 32 hours per week. Fully on-site with some schedule flexibility

Salary: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour.
