Responsibilities:
The Payroll Specialist supports the Company's payroll functions. This role must be able to meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, multi-task, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. The position reports directly to the Finance Manager.
Review timecards, time off, salaries, benefits, taxes, and deductions to ensure accuracy for payroll processing in UKG.
Process payroll on biweekly, monthly, and off-cycle schedules with approval from the Finance Manager.
Answer employee or HR questions related to pay, taxes, time off, and employee benefits.
Provide payroll reporting to HR and Finance.
Maintain voluntary and non-voluntary deductions and allocations in employee records.
Work with Finance Manager on year-end tasks.
Partner with Finance Manager on information systems, onboarding, offboarding and related tasks.
Assist Finance Manager and HR in state, federal, and local payroll compliance related to payroll tax, time keeping, time off, earnings and deductions.
Maintain internal systems by partnering with leaders within Finance and cross-departmental to support the company growth.

Maintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other applicable laws and regulations. PHI is a top priority of our organization.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent years of experience in the field.
1-3 years related payroll experience with basic knowledge of payroll calculations, wage and tax regulations, and understanding of pre-tax and post-tax earnings and deductions.
Organized, structured, detail-orientated who has a clear understanding of confidentiality and deadlines.
Entry level understanding of basic accounting principles and practices a plus.
Intermediate level expertise in Excel and Word.
Preferred experience in Concur and UKG platforms.
Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
Dependable; able to meet reliable attendance and punctuality standards for the role.
