AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Structural Engineer - Buildings & Facilities for immediate employment in our Tampa, FL office. This position will support the Building & Places (B+P) organization and will provide expertise in relation to Buildings and Facilities Engineering, structural design, methods, and practices within this discipline.

AECOM's Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, asset advisory, master planning, urban planning, site/civil engineering, and landscape architecture. The Structural Engineer is a key member of the B+P team and expected to work and lead in a collaborative manner for the success of our overall team and Clients.

With a range of expertise from strategy, conceptual analysis, design development, and full engineering, AECOM B+P team partners with Clients to build long-term value relationships.

The job responsibilities for the position will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

Serving as lead project structural engineer on a variety of building types, from small to large size projects and different construction methodologies.

Providing technical input to studies and structural design, including areas of expertise.

Training and/or knowledge sharing with junior level staff for specific technical design aspects of structural design, constructability, and suitable methodologies.

Directly communicating with and presenting complex technical solutions to clients, when applicable.

Performing quality control reviews of work developed by others and signing off on work.

Participating in development of technical proposals (including estimates for the engineering budget and schedule).

Reviewing permitting agency/engineering standards and regulations necessary to develop proper structural design and engineering design and permitting applications.

Reviewing Client Design Standards when applicable for compliance.

Working under supervision of the Department Manager/Project Manager, however able to organize workload and work independently on project-specific design tasks and with teams as assigned.

Working closely with other departments from the AECOM project team/office, including civil, architecture, MEP, geotechnical, Federal team, landscape architects, and surveyors to provide value to each project.
