Job description
Overview: Job Title: Virtualization Engineer II Job Location: MacDill AFB, Florida Job Responsibilities: Trace Systems is seeking a cleared Virtualization Engineer II to join our team based on-site at MacDill AFB, FL. The Virtualization Engineer will also support alternate duty location during COOP. Support is generally Monday through Friday between . Additionally, occasional on-call support may be required on a rotating basis. Responsibilities include: Provide engineering support for virtual servers, networks, and VDI. Conduct analysis and assessments on new technologies, developing recommended functional design solutions to meet stakeholder requirements, providing Tier 3 NetOps support to the JNOC, develop engineer, recommend design solution hardware and software solutions, and conduct cybersecurity mitigations on design solutions to comply with RMF cybersecurity requirements. Develop, test, troubleshoot, and implement virtual system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, memory usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency. Perform RMF/systems security administration/hardening functions, including creating user profiles and accounts on virtual hardware platforms. Develop and maintain virtual hardware platforms system configuration baselines. Configure administrator accounts, tuning system performance, and installing system wide software and allocate mass storage. Minimum Qualifications: An active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance. Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required . Minimum 5 years experience supporting virtual servers, networks, and VDI. Position requires a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification. Requires VCP-DCV Certification. Desired Qualifications: Experience analyzing the operational, functional, and performance requirements are tied to system design and the test and implementation of initial capabilities. Experience with System Requirements Reviews (SRR). Knowledge of JCSE coverage and capacity requirements for the end-to-end enterprise infrastructure (ex. SATCOM Gateway Baseband, transportable SATCOM terminals, terrestrial transport, NIPR data/voice/video, SIPR data/voice/video, MILSATCOM Bandwidth, COMSATCOM Bandwidth, deployable baseband). Ability to assist the government with development, updates, and review of program/project Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), Information Support Plan (ISP), and Technology Readiness Assessment (TRA) on new or emerging technologies or capabilities. Experience reviewing Information Technology (IT) policies, procedures, guidance, and instructions and assist the government with remaining compliant. Experience with developing, updating and maintaining engineering documents. Education: At least a High school diploma or equivalent is required.
