Our company is seeking a Procurement Specialist to be located in our Tampa, FL facility. The Purchasing Specialist will report directly to the Purchasing Manager and will play a crucial role in our procurement operations. This individual will be responsible for sourcing new suppliers, ensuring the quality and compliance of purchased products and materials, negotiating favorable purchase terms, and evaluating supplier performance. The Purchasing Specialist will also handle timely deliveries and resolve any supply issues or discrepancies to ensure the smooth operation of our business.
Procurement Specialist Responsibilities:
- Supplier Sourcing and Evaluation: Identify and source new suppliers to meet the company's product and material requirements. Conduct thorough evaluations of potential suppliers to ensure they meet technical specifications and quality standards.
- Purchase Negotiations: Negotiate purchase terms with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing and conditions. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure long-term cooperation and reliability.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all purchased products and materials comply with specific technical specifications and quality standards. Coordinate with quality control teams to address any issues or discrepancies in product quality.
- Supplier Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance regularly, addressing any issues related to delivery, quality, or service. Implement corrective actions as needed to maintain high standards of supplier performance.
- Logistics and Delivery Management: Ensure timely deliveries of products and materials to meet production and operational needs. Resolve any supply chain issues or discrepancies promptly to avoid disruptions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Procurement Specialist Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field - preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of exempt level experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
- Experience in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships required.
- Abilities: Strong negotiation and communication skills; Excellent organizational and time management abilities; Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
