Job description

An industrial foreman is responsible for overseeing construction activities on lift stations, water treatment facilities and other industrial projects, managing the day-to-day tasks of the electricians and apprentices, interpreting the plans and specifications to execute and complete daily tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

Tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Oversee daily operations at the worksite, coordinating tasks and assigning duties to electricians and apprentices.

Install and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, and devices in buildings.

Install electrical components according to building codes and regulations.

Work with other electricians and contractors to complete projects.

Diagnose electrical problems in industrial settings.

Conduct circuit tests to ascertain their operational status, whether energized or de-energized.

Measure voltage, amperage, resistance, and phase displacement using electrical instruments.

Knowledgeably discuss the implications of installing various types of wiring.

Ensure that the work is done by the code, including the National Electrical Code.

Communicate effectively with project managers and contractors to provide updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.

Prepare and submit daily reports on work activities, including labor hours, equipment usage, and project milestones.

Implement safety protocols and procedures on-site, conduct regular safety inspections, and promptly address any safety concerns or violations.

Train and mentor construction workers to perform specific tasks in a work environment.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills

Required:

5 years Experience as a foreman or in a similar role in the industry.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and safety regulations.

Proficient in reading blueprints and construction plans.

Proficient in using Procore.

License/Certification

Preferred:

Valid Driver's License.

Journeyman License.

OSHA Certification or willingness to obtain.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of construction/trade workers.

Familiarity with construction equipment and tools.
