Job description

Overview:
The Shipping Manager plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the shipping department to provide a safe and sanitary work environment. The Shipping Manager complies with the company's policies, OSHA and government regulations.

Qualifications:
Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or High School diploma/GED equivalent and three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Supervise, developing budgets, safety management, developing standards, managing processes, surveillance skills, inventory control, reporting skills, analyzing information, equipment maintenance and judgment

Must be able to posses and maintain a valid forklift license issued by the company Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Ability to add subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

The employee will be required to use all personal protective equipment provided by the company in compliance with OSHA regulations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to sit climb, balance, stoop, taste and smell;

Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift/move 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

Must have a full range of motion

The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, and cold or extreme cold

Responsibilities:
Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.

Monitors, on a daily basis, the inventory and codes of all products in the cooler to insure proper rotation of all items.

Maintains warehouse staff performance by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts: reconciling with data storage system

Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.

Monitors attendance, overtime, to insure compliance with company policies and all government regulations

Insure full compliance with all quality assurance standards, as well as company dress code policy, good hygiene, and housekeeping practices

Plan direct and coordinate the activities of the shipping department in order to meet established objectives
