Overview
We are looking for a Student to start in May for an 10 to 12 week assignment.
Stryten Energy delivers premium energy storage solutions that power everything from warehouses and distribution centers to cars, trains and trucks that keep people on the move and essential supply chains running. Our stored energy solutions include advanced lead and lithium batteries, intelligent chargers and cloud-based software that help companies make smart fleet design decisions.
We partner with our customers to identify their need, and then find the best solution for that need, regardless of technology. We are not betting our future on any one solution. Instead, we believe the future will involve great battery technology, which will include both advanced lead and lithium solutions, depending on customer needs.
Stryten Energy is located north of Atlanta in Alpharetta, GA. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer student for from May of 2025 through August 2025. This is a 40-hour week, paid opportunity but housing is not provided so you must have both housing and transportation.
Responsibilities
About the role - you'll need to:
- Participate in the design of innovative electronic devices intended for defense, motive and large energy storage applications.
- Validate technologies and produce working demonstration systems which integrate new technologies with existing Stryten products.
- Use CAD (Stryten uses SolidWorks) and engineering analysis to assist with the definition and fine-tuning of emerging designs.
- Perform experiments, first-article inspections, material selection and similar tasks associated with mechanical engineering.
- Draft test report and plans for engineering testing and validation.
Qualifications
- Graduating between DEC 2025 and MAY 2026
- Working towards BS in Mechanical Engineering (3rd year student preferred).
- With a GPA of 3.0 or greater
- You must have housing and transportation
- The position is required to work onsite daily
About you - you'll need:
- Previous co-op term (with at least one term having design experience) or a proven school project with design experience.
- Minimum of 500 hours of SolidWorks experience.
- Preference given to students with an understanding of GD&T.
- Preference given to students with an understanding of SolidWorks PDM.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Good attention to detail, the ability to multitask and time management skills.
- Well-developed computer skills including CAD, Word and Excel.
- A collaborative approach - you'll be a natural and enthusiastic team player.
