The City of Atlanta Department of Aviation (DOA) is seeking an Accreditation Manager highly skilled in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting to join our dynamic Sustainability team. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating and leading projects as assigned by the Director of Sustainability, related to managing and maintaining the department's Airports Carbon Accreditation (ACA) through Airport Council International (ACI), and publishing the DOA's annual ESG report.

Responsibilities will include, coordinating cross-functional teams for completing ESG and ACA required tasks, document creation, facilitating annual document review to maintain updated evidence of compliance, completing all tasks required for biannual ACA audits, maintaining a virtual library of documents, ensuring ESG and ACA required tasks and projects are completed on schedule, and contributing to sustainability strategy and planning for DOA.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, highly organized, enthusiastic about collaborating with cross-functional teams and process improvement, works well independently as well as on a team, and can influence without formal authority. This candidate will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide individual development and support the team on a variety of issues related to ESG reporting, maintaining ACA accreditation for DOA, and developing sustainability initiatives for the department.

Supervision Received

  • Reports to the Director of Sustainability.
  • May work independently or with others with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Takes primary responsibility for development of the Airport's sustainability reporting initiatives including the annual ESG report
  • Manages the department's ACA accreditation, including overseeing the ongoing accreditation process.
  • Helps to maintain the Airport's membership and increasing levels in ACA and other certification programs
  • Assures compliance to maintain ACA and other sustainability-related accreditation, including developing policies and coordinating cross-functional teams within the Department to complete all accreditation required tasks on schedule.
  • Serves as the department's liaison to Airport Council International (ACI) for all communications related to ACA accreditation.
  • Updates and reviews all ACA standards required annually
  • Leads re-accreditation efforts to occur every 2 years, including scheduling project tasks and coordinating deliverables.
  • Coordinates and supports matrix teams, providing resources and support to achieve ACA standards.
  • Provides ongoing analysis of agency procedures and policy development, strategic plan results, and performance metrics for DOA sustainability programs and services, including participation, and other related KPIs
  • Makes recommendations for new or revised sustainability goals.
  • Provides information to assist in the preparation of fund raising and grant applications as needed
  • Utilizes life cycle assessment (LCA) and other methods to develop and implement sustainability metrics and other relevant data to inform business decisions
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets data on energy consumption, waste management, greenhouse gas emissions, and other sustainability-related metrics
  • Assists in developing and implementing training sessions and awareness campaigns to educate employees and airport stakeholders on sustainability practices
  • Leads waste management and recycling programs at the Airport
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
