In the Altius C2 Architect role, you will own the technical development of the Altius command & control, and be responsible for the delivery of high quality products to our customers. You will be positioned at the intersection of a variety of critical teams that you will work with to help progress your product from initial concept through sustained production. Your day-to-day focus will change often, as you navigate a complex product development roadmap. In cooperation with the Business Line Leadership, Growth Team and Project Managers you will have the opportunity to develop a cross-functional strategy, gather and reviewing critical market data, track key product growth and cost metrics, meet with external parties to present product vision, find and reduce technical gaps in capabilities, solve multi-disciplinary engineering challenges, and much more. Candidates for this role should have experience in Unmanned Aerial System development and will have ideally worked within all stages of a standard product life cycle. They will have a technical background along with project management experience they and are able to prioritize and direct technical efforts. The right individual is excited about the prospects of working on a growing team, and will be expected to provide feedback on process improvement opportunities for their specific product, as well as for the product management organization as a whole. WHAT YOU'LL DO Own the technical, quality and performance success of the Altius C2 product, establish technical and programmatic vision, assemble teams of internal and external subject matter experts, and communicate that vision to them. Participate in and provide oversight of the systems engineering process such as requirements definition, architecture design, integration and testing. You will lead design reviews for final approval by the Head of Products. Represent and help build your product's culture. As a leader in the engineering product development organization, you will consistently interact with all teams at Anduril and often will be tasked to represent the product in a cross-functional capacity. Coordinate across the business line functional groups including Engineering, Growth, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Test/Evaluation and Leadership. Routinely interact with senior leaders across the business line and Anduril participate in development business strategies and provide progress updates on the development and delivery of products. Establish key milestones and targets from across the organization to help define the product roadmap. You will ensure that teams are being engaged at the right time and at the right product maturity stage to warrant success. The roadmap you help develop will be the guide for your product that the organization will use as a reference in planning. Own configuration management for multiple variants of the product. Evaluate and prioritize the various tasks required to successfully support the product development efforts. Mature products for large scale manufacturing and production. Proactively communicate strategy to help manage expectations, and identify and address risks in a timely manner to help keep things on track. Work cross-functionally with teams including, but not limited to: design engineering, finance, logistics, EHS, manufacturing, engineering testing, legal, technical operations, business strategy/programs, etc. Directly lead and guide the Hardware Product Manger and integrated product teams through the execution projects supported by matrix support functional engineers and subject matter experts. Perform engineering and development functions alongside Integrated Product Teams and cross functional expertise internal and external to the business line. Develop the architecture topology that best meets the CONOP, and understand key trades that are made through simulation and/or exploratory prototyping techniques. This includes but is not limited to developing accurate models to direct design of various vehicle subsystems (air frame, sensing, compute, communications, powertrain, energy storage and management, etc.) Provide oversight of subcontractor development scope of work Assist in the management and complete trade studies in support of product cost goals Provide guidance and recommendations for follow-on supply chain planning Approve and ensure execution of the validation plan for the end to end system REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS BS in Aerospace, Software Engineering, or a related field. Demonstrated mastery and extensive experience in the related product discipline may substitute for a degree or certification. 10+ years relevant industry experience 4+ years in software product development Strong understanding of the "why" behind Vehicle and Systems design Experience working on mission critical DOD systems Experience leading projects from development through manufacturing and sustainment. Experience creating teams and focusing them around a common vision Demonstrated direct team leadership skills Aptitude for working with internal and external stakeholders, across a wide range of technical areas Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of modern network topologies and communications infrastructures, including military RF systems such as mobile ad-hoc networks. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of transport protocols such as TCP, UDP, and QUIC, and when to utilize specific transmission mechanisms e.g., unicast vs. multicast. US Person Status is required, as this position needs to access export-controlled data This role will be responsible for the Altius Munition product, working with sensitive and export control data. The TS should be either current, in-process or the candidate has already had clearance that shows likely TS attainment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Defense, national security, or aerospace domain familiarity through industry or education. Experience with or interest in working with visual design tools to communicate ideas. U.S. Military Special Operations or equivalent contracting experience overseas. US Salary Range $154,700 - $262,650 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
