Position Summary:
Default Services Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all default servicing activities for both Retail and Lease Portfolios are handled promptly and in compliance with consumer lending laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures. This role involves working closely with internal teams, borrowers, and third-party vendors to facilitate loss mitigation strategies. Duties include problem solving, analyzing work methods to improve effectiveness and maximize utilization. Effective communication with the management team is critical to reach departmental and corporate goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Covis or other vendors to properly maintain legal letter database apprising Compliance and other departments of changes to state requirements.
- Ensure default services letters such as Notice of Intent (NOI) and Application of Proceeds (AOP), Right to Cure (RTC) are accurate and completed timely and that deviations are immediately reported to management
- Assist in automating processes with Risk Management, Compliance and Digital teams
- Support the Specialized Services team and ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to applicable laws
- Audit and monitor Allied Solutions and/or other outsourcing vendors and provide dashboard reporting back to management
- Ensure any changes to law and/or regulations are updated in Default Services Process/Procedures and Maps
- Handle inquiries from the Compliance Department on CFPB, state and local audit requests.
- Work closely with internal departments, including legal, compliance and loan servicing teams to resolve complex default -related issues.
- Maintain detailed records of all communications and actions taken on each loan file in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

- Supports the development of strategies, workflow processes, and process management for Default Services Process Improvement
- Support and implement reporting mechanisms to keep management apprised of performance levels, developing trends and workloads
- Active participant in meetings with team members and management in developing long term and short-term departmental objectives and goals
- Highly involved with compliance to stay up to date on internal and external laws and regulations including unique requirements at the federal and state level for both Lease and Retail Portfolios.
- Handles cross-channel business deliverables as assigned.
- Assist in the development and implementation of best practices for the department
- Provides reports on internal and external metrics as requested
- Ensures vendor invoices are reviewed for accuracy, appropriate services are performed and that payments are processed timely.
- Responsible for ensuring performance objectives are met, complying with corporate policy and upholding federal and state regulations. Other duties may be assigned.
Required Experience:
- A minimum of 3-year related experience with a background of involvement in two or more of the following: Legal, Recovery, Repossession, Remarketing, Bankruptcy, Primary BCPI insurance policies, Total Loss insurance, Loan Documents, or Gap Waivers.
- High School Diploma
- Excellent communication skills.
- Detailed oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Access.
- Must be able to work in a flexible team environment
- Capacity to handle multiple priorities ensuring deadlines are met or negotiate new timelines.
- Must be flexible in scheduled time to complete assignments.
- Creative thinking in discovering solutions and redefining processes.
- Embraces change and challenges status quo.
- Overtime required required on an as needed basis.
- Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Atlanta, GA
- Education-
- Bachelor degree in Business, Finance or related field.

Work Schedule This position requires the ability to work various shifts to accommodate business needs. Typically, between the hours of 8AM-6PM Monday through Friday and on weekends as needed. Travel is required 10% of the time.
