Responsibilities:
As a part of the Organizational Effectiveness (OE) team within the Talent Strategy Division of Human Resources & Development, this role will support the OE vision to ensure we have the right skills in the right roles at the right time in the right way. This role is tasked with taking a data-driven, empirical approach to ensure we align workforce strategies to business strategies through developing Talent Assessment, Organizational Effectiveness, and Organizational Design tools, models, and strategies.
As a member of this team, we are looking for dynamic professionals that thrive in providing consultation and advisement using their organizational effectiveness & design expertise. The ability to share their knowledge, collaborate, and influence up and across multiple stakeholders will be key for success in the role. We are seeking candidates able to do the following:
Review, build, and consult on talent assessments to support business area and State Farm's workforce strategies; tools such as interviews, work samples, and competency measures.
Facilitate local research and workshops to create and document roles/jobs responsibilities and job needs (skills, competencies, experience) which could include conducting job analysis, mapping skills and competencies to responsibilities, and consulting on job design (span of control, job characteristics model, team theories).
Bring data driven processes to measure business area workforce needs and gaps which could include organizational diagnostics, network analysis, pre-hire assessments, and employee talent assessments.
Guide HR and business leaders through strategic organizational effectiveness and design processes that includes conducting organizational diagnostics, influencing how teams are structured, and supporting the definition and assessment of key roles.
Consult on organizational processes, systems and structures that reinforce business strategy, build desired culture, and have a focus for the future (modernize).
Partner with other enablers, subject matter resources, and business area executives and leaders to plan, prepare, and execute workforce changes.
Tailor and innovate consultation approach to meet unique business challenges.
Support the full scope of product development and project implementation.
As a part of the Center of Excellence you will be expected to research, provide guidance, and share knowledge of industry research, benchmarking, and approaches to build organizational effectiveness and agility across the Enterprise.
Qualifications:
Position requires prior experience and education in industrial organizational psychology and/or organizational development; experience consulting on large-scale initiatives and advanced degree in IO Psychology or relevant certifications preferred
Prior applied experience and working knowledge of the implications of organizational design, reorganization, job design, and/or selection assessments including relevant policies, industry standards, and trends
Experience in workforce measurement and data driven approaches for job analysis and/or talent assessments
Comfort in working with, presenting to, and facilitating sessions with executive/upper leadership
Demonstrated ability to work in confidential and sensitive settings
Strong communication and relationship building skills
Strong learning agility and natural curiosity
Ability to influence and get work done through others on a cross-functional team
Comfort in working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to navigate ambiguity and manage complex projects
The ability to simplify complex problems into clearly coordinated strategies is also preferred
