Job Description:

As a Project Manager, you will manage and/or provide project scope management consultation to ensure Client is actively involved throughout the project's software development lifecycle activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and provide project scope management consultation to ensure active involvement throughout the project's software development lifecycle activities

Collaborate closely with the client resource manager, vendor, business analysts, and subject matter experts assigned to the NextGen client support team

Ensure timely communication of the State NextGen project scope to the appropriate client stakeholders while keeping the group informed of the project's progress

Lead client stakeholder meetings to determine effective approaches for achieving objectives

Develop project management tools including plans for stakeholder management, scope management, risk management, communications, change control, and performance measurement

Monitor performance during project execution, reporting project status and pertinent issues, including major milestones and potential project risks

Conduct status meetings, assess proposed changes in scope, and recommend courses of action to project sponsors

Use the product verification process to ensure project deliverables meet client expectations and perform a lessons learned review at project completion

Oversee and control schedules, resources, scope, and risks

Ensure stakeholders take necessary action steps to achieve project goals and objectives

Work with the project steering committee and senior project management to resource project tasks

Collaborate with the State NextGen PMO and quality assurance team to extend expected project standards, procedures, and quality objectives to the client level

Manage client project meetings, communicating individual roles and project expectations

Monitor project milestones and critical dates to identify potential schedule jeopardy and resolve issues

Assess variances from the project plan, gather metrics, and implement changes as necessary to ensure adherence to time, cost, and quality objectives

Conduct formal reviews with business sponsors at project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction

Develop and maintain productive working relationships with project sponsors, vendors, and key clients

Required Skills, Experiences, Education and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree in a related field or specialized training and three years of IT project management or equivalent IT team leadership experience

PMP certification from PMI or equivalent certification

5 years of experience leading projects of high complexity (within the last 2 years)

Expert proficiency in MS Project, MS Visio, SharePoint, and all MS O365 Software

Experience working in state government and in an outsourced environment

Master's degree in a related field

Experience leading/coordinating vendor-managed projects within the last 5 years

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $50.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
