Job Summary: The S Corp Tax Accountant is responsible for managing and preparing the tax filings for S Corporations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role involves detailed tax planning, preparation, and advisory services to optimize tax liabilities and support the financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Tax Preparation and Filing: Prepare and file accurate and timely federal, state, and local tax returns for S Corporations.
Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax benefits.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, staying updated on changes in tax legislation.
Advisory Services: Provide tax-related advice to management on business decisions, including mergers, acquisitions, and other financial activities.
Audit Support: Coordinate and manage tax audits, representing the company in discussions with tax authorities.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all tax-related activities and transactions.
Collaboration: Work closely with the leadership team to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting of tax obligations.
Research: Conduct detailed tax research and stay informed about industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on S Corporations.
Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations applicable to S Corporations.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-experts.

Work Environment:
Location: Remote, work from anywhere
Hours: Full-time, with addition paid over-time hours during tax season.

2. What documents have to be included with each filing for question 1?
3. Explain how S corp disbursements work?
4. How should an S corp manage disbursements when 100% have to be made by end of year but accounting may not be finalized to later follow year? Put in simple terms as you will report to the CEO.
5. Say the owner uses the wrong credit card to pay. What account should the owner make in the books to track these transactions?
6. How should these owner purchase transactions be refunded to the owner and per what cycle? (Related to question above)
8. Say the business you are helping managing the books for has rental properties. The owner has added a new rental property to his portfolio which contains furnishes he had personally paid for 2-3 years ago, but they have little to no wear and tear / use. How would you quickly add these items to the books? What rules do you follow to quickly write off these new items as expenses for the owner in the books? (I.e., TV, Sofa).
9. What are the top free / community resources you use to get information / knowledge to stay relevant as an accountant?
10. What are the top paid resources you will recommend we acquire to support you in your role?
