The Fleet Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and maintaining the Department of Watershed's fleet of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency. This position requires a blend of leadership skills, technical knowledge, and logistical expertise. As a Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for developing fleet policies and procedures, managing vehicle acquisition and disposal, and overseeing maintenance schedules. You'll work closely with other departments to forecast vehicle needs based on operational demands and ensure compliance with governmental regulations. Your ability to analyze data related to vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and driver behavior will be crucial in identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving measures. Additionally, the Fleet Manager will lead a team of maintenance personnel, providing training and support to ensure that all fleet operations run smoothly. This role is essential for maximizing the efficiency of the fleet while minimizing downtime and costs, and it plays a significant part in contributing to the overall success of the organization. DWM utilizes several software systems (AssetWorks, Maximo, Samsara, AgileFleet, and Key Tracer) to monitor, assign and forecast maintenance schedules and locations of vehicles. If you are passionate about logistics and possess strong organizational skills, this might be the perfect opportunity for you to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.
