Job Summary
Troubleshoots, repairs, installs electrical systems and equipment to ensure safety reliability and quality performance.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications:
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Trade and vocational school graduate, four (4) years electrical apprentice or equivalent training.
Minimum Experience: Five (5) years experience of building and electric safety code.

Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Building and electric safety code knowledge
Has knowledge of systems applicable to Medical Center facility
Knowledge and skill necessary to make repairs and maintenance on electrical equipment demonstrated through the use of manuals, blueprints and schematics
Understands and interprets electrical service manuals
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Adjustments and repairs on electrical equipment are made to ensure proper operation.
Analyzes electrical problems, repairs electrical components and returns to service with minimum down time.
Maintains material for normal and emergency repairs.
Provides proper documentation on preventive maintenance systems.
Assists other maintenance personnel in performing repairs and preventive maintenance on support equipment.
Documents repairs on work order requests.
Maintains all components of the electrical distribution system.
Performs preventive maintenance on the electrical system, electrical panels, receptacle and circuit breakers.
Performs monthly generator tests.
Provides required documentation on the preventive maintenance system. Stating corrective action taken.
Properly plans installation of new electrical systems.
Conducts survey of proposed location to determine feasible and practical installation.
Installs new systems in compliance with National Electrical Code requirements.
Coordinates installations in a manner to ensure minimum inconvenience to patients and employees.
Reads and understands electrical distribution blueprints.
Makes necessary changes to existing electrical blueprints to reflect added electrical circuits and electrical outlets
Correctly utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment and insures integrity of hospital issued and staff provided personal protective equipment.
